Jamal Adams was not at all subtle in taking another shot at the Jets.

Jamal Adams is heading to the playoffs for the first time in his NFL career after the Seattle Seahawks clinched a postseason berth in Week 15, and the jubilant All-Pro safety could not resist rubbing it in the face of his former employers.

A 20-15 win over the Washington Football Team sealed a place in the playoffs for the eighth time in nine seasons for Seattle. For many on the Seahawks’ roster, securing a spot in the postseason is a routine event.

For Adams, however, it is a different story.

He had never even experienced a winning season in his first three years with the Jets after being drafted in the first round in 2017.

But his acrimonious exit from the Jets, who received a pair of first-round picks in exchange for the two-time Pro Bowler, saw Adams land with a team that knows the formula to get to the dance and he could not withhold his joy at ending his wait or pass up the chance to jab at Jets in his post-game press conference.

Interrupting the question of a reporter, Adams said:

"“Hell, yeah! That’s a hell of a feeling, man. I’m sorry, I’m not used to this. Forgive me, I know you guys are, Seattle, always going to the playoffs. I’m not used to this, I’m used to sending my cards home by this time, and I’m already packing up learning where I’m going next, where’s the vacation, when am I seeing family? Sorry to cut you off, I’m just excited.”"

With his comments coming a week after Adams set the single-season record for sacks by a defensive back in the Seahawks’ 40-3 rout of the Jets, 2020 has been a season in which he has gotten plenty of revenge on his former team.
