Kelly Oubre Jr. threw down an awesome slam over Kevin Durant in the NBA season opener.

The 2020-21 NBA season is officially here and fans got a treat to start with Tuesday’s matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets.

The Nets got off to a great start with both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant dominating en route to scoring 40 points in the opening quarter of the season. The Warriors trailed throughout the first half, but Kelly Oubre Jr. did provide fans with some excitement early on.

Kelly Oubre throws it down over Kevin Durant

Oubre just joined the Warriors last month and was in the starting rotation Tuesday night. He is coming off an injury-shortened season that saw him average a career-best mark of 18.7 points per game. Oubre was also primarily a starter for the first time in his career last year with the Phoenix Suns.

Durant’s return is one of the top storylines of the season, and he won’t be worried too much about giving up an easy two points. The Nets appear to be ready to outscore nearly anyone this season if Durant and Irving can both stay healthy.

The Warriors are hoping players like Oubre, Andrew Wiggins and James Wiseman can step up and help out Stephen Curry. As expected, Curry was the only Warrior to reach double-digit scoring in the first half Tuesday.

The Nets look like the real deal, and Oubre’s putback slam may be one of the few top moments of the night for the Warriors. The only good news is they won’t be the only team to have a tough night against the Nets this season.
