3 veteran free agents the Chiefs should sign to solidify another Super Bowl run
The Kansas City Chiefs should consider signing several top veteran free agents before the start of the postseason.
The Kansas City Chiefs have the best record in football at 13-1 and are clear favorites to repeat as Super Bowl champions. But even the greatest teams can improve.
The Chiefs may not need upgrades. However, the playoffs are a different animal and the front office may want to look over the remaining free agents available and make a few calls. Adding talent and having the best available 53-man roster should be the top priority over the final two weeks of the season.
Let’s take a look at a few players who could help the Chiefs.
3. Kenny Stills
Kenny Stills appeared in 10 games for the Houston Texans this year before being let go. He now stands out as a top available veteran option.
The Chiefs don’t necessarily need help at receiver. Adding someone like Stills is more about getting that veteran experience and adding depth at a time when the threat of players missing time because of COVID-19 remains.
Stills has played in the postseason before, and he even took on the Chiefs as a member of the Texans last year. He is going to show up and be reliable, and the Chiefs may want to give him a shot if there are any concerns with the roster or with Byron Pringle’s health at that final receiver spot.
