Running Back: Christian McCaffrey $10,000

Spending five figures on a player who’s missed most of this season in Week 16? That would be preposterous in most other situations, but everyone else isn’t Christian McCaffrey. He’s played three weeks this season and he scored at least 20 points in every one of them. When he returned from injury last time, he scored 27 points against the Chiefs.

Matt Rhule has said he hopes to see McCaffrey practice on Wednesday, and if he does his outlook will be good for playing this week. At least this gives fantasy players an early look at whether the most important player of the week will be available.

McCaffrey suffered a shoulder injury in Week 9, but he’s fully recovered from that. He suffered a thigh injury in practice, and that is what’s been keeping him out for the past couple of weeks. He’s returned from injury with a fire up his behind before and there’s no reason to believe it won’t happen again.

Running backs haven’t been great against the Washington Football Team, but when McCaffrey is right, he is matchup proof. He can score 20 points against anyone. He excelled against The Bucs and Chiefs, two good rushing defenses. If he plays, he will do the same this weekend.
