1. NFL Week 16 best bets: New Orleans Saints -7

The Saints have become regular fixtures in this space due to their uncanny ability to cover numbers this season. That was also the case in Week 15, when New Orleans either covered or secured a push (depending on when you locked in your wager) in a three-point loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Falling at home to Patrick Mahomes isn’t shameful for the Saints, who remain a big threat to win the NFC. Drew Brees looked a bit rusty in his return from a rib injury but picked up steam as the game went on, offering encouraging signs that he can guide New Orleans deep into January once again.

This week is a short one for the Saints, who host the Vikings on Christmas Day and are laying seven points at home. Minnesota is coming off a brutal loss to the Chicago Bears that all but ended their postseason hopes, meaning this group may not have much motivation for a road game on Christmas.

New Orleans, on the other hand, can clinch a division title with a victory and needs to win in order to keep pace with the Packers for home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. Lay the touchdown with the Saints, who should win in a big rout, as the best bet of the week.
