3 offseason trades the Browns should start thinking about now

Trade for Myles Jack
Arguably the biggest weakness on the Browns is their defense. Not because there are bad players currently on the roster, but because there are a ton dealing with injuries. But even when at full health, Cleveland had one position that needed addressing, and that was at linebacker.
The Browns should look no further than Myles Jack of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
It’s no secret that the Jaguars are still in the process of rebuilding, as they currently hold the first-overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft that will be used on Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Additionally, they’re currently in search of a new general manager after the organization fired David Caldwell back in November. As is the case with any new head of the front office, they’re going to be open to moving on from some big contracts from the previous regime. When doing so, that will allow them to mold the team into their own image.
Jack has been stellar for Jacksonville this season, as he tallied 105 total tackles, four passes defended, two fumble recoveries and one sack. Even though quarterbacks have completed 35-of-46 passes while targeting him for 288 yards and one touchdown, per Pro Football Reference, don’t let that fool you. For the first half of the season, Jack was virtually unstoppable in coverage.
Jacksonville just signed Jack to a contract extension in 2019, but it’s relatively affordable for Cleveland. He’s owed a total of $31.25 million over the next three seasons, and Cleveland will have approximately $26.5 million in cap space available for 2021, per Spotrac. The Jaguars are obviously looking to start anew with a new general manager, new coach and new quarterback, so the Browns would be wise to give whoever’s in charge a call about Jack.
