NFL DFS Bargain Bin: Week 16 Sunday Slates Running Backs
Miles Sanders, PHI at DAL ($7,000-DK/$7,300-FD)
Sanders isn’t exactly dirt cheap, but he still checks in at a discount over the highest-salaried options in the positional pool and is now operating with a quarterback in Jalen Hurts that poses a significant rushing threat in his own right. In turn, that helps loosen up opposing front sevens and makes undisciplined units such as that of the Cowboys even more vulnerable. Notably, Dallas comes in with a No. 25 ranking in rush defense DVOA and has given up the most rushing yards (2,265) in the league.
Sanders has already posted the second-highest rushing yardage tally of his season with Hurts under center, with the second-year back having racked up 115 (and two TDs) versus the Saints in Week 14. The Penn State product also has multiple receptions in four of the last six contests, while Dallas has surrendered the most adjusted line yards (4.94) and second-most RB yards per carry (4.92). Given Sanders’ explosive big-play ability and the importance of this contest for Philadelphia, he should have no shortage of opportunities to provide a strong return on investment.
Melvin Gordon, DEN at LAC ($5,600-DK/$6,400-FD)
Gordon has displayed impressive efficiency over the last three games, and he’s now set for a favorable matchup against his old team and with a potentially elevated role on tap. Phillip Lindsay (hip/knee) has already been ruled out for Sunday’s divisional contest, while Royce Freeman (hip) heads into the weekend listed as questionable. Meanwhile, Gordon’s former Chargers squad checks into Week 16 with a No. 26 ranking in rush defense DVOA and 4.6 RB yards per carry surrendered.
The Bolts have also given up the 10th-most rushing yards per game (123.6) and eight rushing touchdowns, and Los Angeles is tied for the sixth-most receptions (80) yielded to RBs as well. Gordon is currently averaging the second-most yards per carry (4.7) of his career, has multiple targets in three straight games and sports an elevated 23 red-zone rush attempts through 13 contests despite usually sharing time with Lindsay and Freeman. Factoring in his elite 23.3 percent broken-tackle rate, Gordon could be in for some solid chunk gains with what should be a heavy workload.
