Wrestling industry reacts to sudden death of Brodie Lee

All Elite Wrestling performer, Brodie Lee passes away at 41-years of age.

News broke on Saturday that professional wrestler, Brodie Lee, died at 41-years of age. All Elite Wrestling announced the sad news via Twitter. Lee, real name Jon Huber performed across the wrestling industry including important independent organizations, WWE and AEW. The industry responding with sadness as the news spread.

Paige, a colleague who worked with Huber in WWE posted a statement on Twitter.

“Sending so much love to his wife and little boys. My heart breaks for them. RIP Brodie.”

Penelope Ford, another member of the All-Elite Wrestling roster, also posted her support for Huber and his family.

“My heart hurts. One of the nicest humans. My love and prayers go out to his beautiful family.”

Others on the AEW roster such as Hikaru Shida, Matt Hardy, along with wrestlers from competitive organizations also took to social media to express their sadness. Huber’s wife, Amanda, took to Instagram to say that he passed due to a “non-COVID related lung issue.”

Other reactions across wrestling included the likes of WWE Hall-of-Famer Mick Foley, WWE performer Big E and more.

Huber was last seen on television back in November, with his last match occurring on October 7 against Cody Rhodes in a dog collar match. His character work as Brodie Lee was one of the driving factors behind the success that was the group called the Dark Order in AEW. He was also well known for his work as Luke Harper in WWE where he was a multiple-time champion. He joined AEW in March of 2020 after ending an extended run with the WWE.
