Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns just let everybody down vs. the New York Jets.
Sunday afternoon was not what Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns were hoping for at all.
Without a few players due to a COVID-19 outbreak, the Browns ventured to MetLife to take on the pitiful New York Jets. Too bad Gang Green tasted the sweet deliciousness of winning for the first time last week, as New York eliminated itself from the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes by stunning Mayfield and the Browns to the tune of 23-16. Twitter then ate Mayfield and the Browns alive.
Are the Cleveland Browns even going to make the playoffs now?
With Cleveland falling to 10-5 on the year, the Browns are still on the outside looking in at a postseason berth in the AFC.

I just want Baker Mayfield to be average, instead he shoots the team in the foot

Wow, wish I coulda been there! Playing carefree knowing the Jets will get the #2 pick regardless has brought a new cheerfulness to my Sundays. And to knock out Public Enemy No.1 Baker Mayfield at the same time!

Lord forgive me, but it’s back to my old ways! https://t.co/Fjr7eBWv7Y

The team Cleveland hosts next week is the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers, who just clinched the AFC North title after coming back vs. the Indianapolis Colts, one of the teams still fighting for a playoff berth with the Browns entering Week 17.

Cleveland will ALWAYS Cleveland and I TOLD Y’ALL ABOUT BAKER MAYFIELD but you’re still not ready for that conversation. (And cue the “but he didn’t have any help” cry babies)

Baker Mayfield (minus his top 4 WRs): 28 of 53, 285y, 0TD, 0INT, 4 sacks, 3 lost fumbles. Browns ran the ball 18 times for 45 yards, 2TD.

Ball security was the biggest issue for Mayfield and the Browns in this game. He put the ball on the ground three times, losing it to the Jets twice, including in the game’s most critical moment.

When I die have Baker Mayfield bury me, so he can let me down one last time

Cleveland wasted a perfectly good opportunity to qualify for the playoffs on Sunday afternoon. Now, the Browns must do so against their blood rivals in Week 17.
