Pick Analysis. RP. Avoid Trading. Scouting Report. Josh Hader. 1. player. 76

Instead of naming a player on the trade market that the Brewers should avoid going after, I’m going to flip flop things a little bit. Instead I’m naming a player the Brewers should avoid letting go of in a trade.

Josh Hader has been mentioned in a lot of trade talks over the past two seasons, and things have only heated up with the emergence of reliever Devin Williams in the back end of the bullpen.

But why get rid of Hader so fast? Yes, maybe he didn’t perform great in 2020 and will command a much larger contract in a few seasons. A strong bullpen has been the Brewers bread and butter in some of their most competitive seasons, so why break that apart.

Hader and Williams both can go 2 innings on any given night, and are both borderline untouchable when they have their best stuff.

If the Brewers want any chance of making a deep postseason run in 2021, it’s going to be because of the strong bullpen coupled with an MVP season from Christian Yelich. If the Brewers move on from Hader, most likely it will kick off some sort of rebuilding effort.
