There are three teams that should make Andy Dalton their starting quarterback the 2021 season.

Will 2021 see the return of the Red Rifle?

Quarterback Andy Dalton went through a whirlwind in 2020. From getting cut by the Cincinnati Bengals this past offseason to becoming the Dallas Cowboys backup, before eventually taking over the reins when starter Dak Prescott went down with a season ending injury in Week 5 — Dalton has seen it all. Despite a slow start, Dalton has looked impressive behind center ever since he led the Cowboys to a clutch victory over the Vikings in Week 11. He’s proven that he still has it.

Around the league there are several teams that could use Dalton’s services in 2021. Coming into camp as a starter and using the entire offseason to learn his prospective team’s system could turn into favorable results for the team that decides to swoop in and sign the strong-armed passer in 2021. That said, there are three teams, specifically, who should make the call to bring Dalton in as their starter.

3. Denver Broncos

It may be time for the Denver Broncos team president John Elway to finally call an end to the Drew Lock experiment. The Broncos continue to have a stout defense but their efforts consistently fall by the wayside with turnovers committed by Lock. This can change next season with the team deciding to bring in Dalton as their day one starter in 2021.

Dalton can make this Broncos team one of those surprise Wild Card teams in the AFC. With wide receiver Courtland Sutton back in the fold next year and Melvin Gordon in the backfield, they can use their first-round pick to add another talent on offense to round off their reliable options at the skills positions.

Bringing in Dalton will give this franchise a bridge quarterback so they can hit the reset button on the “franchise quarterback” situation. With Dalton coming in with a chip on his shoulder his attitude could be one that gives this offense an edge.
