ESPN poked fun at the New England Patriots missing the playoffs after Tom Brady left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The New England Patriots accomplished something they haven’t done since 2008, and that’s missing the playoffs. After the team and former quarterback Tom Brady agreed to go their separate ways, there was talk that head coach Bill Belichick could take his team back to the postseason without the six-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback. That wasn’t the case, while Brady took the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the playoffs for the first time since 2007.

With the Patriots playing the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, ESPN’s esteemed graphics team decided to poke fun at the team by creating a “Love Actually” parody including Belichick and Brady. Trust us when we say it’s absolute gold.

Brady’s doing fine in Tampa Bay

As you saw in the clip, “Belichick” showed all of the records that were snapped since Brady opted to sign with the Buccaneers. We’re sure this is how Brady would react in real life, because he’s got postseason preparation to worry about.

Brady’s tenure in Tampa Bay has been a roller coaster ride. The Buccaneers did score a pivotal 38-10 win over the Green Bay Packers back in Week 6, but got swept in their season series against the New Orleans Saints, who clinched the NFC South for the fourth consecutive year. While the division title would’ve been nice, the Buccaneers will definitely take the playoff berth.

The Patriots, on the other hand, tried to replace Brady with free agent Cam Newton, who signed a one-year deal with the team. The signing hasn’t worked out due to the lack of solid complementary weapons, as he primarily did his damage on the ground. That resulted in the Patriots falling behind the Bills and the Miami Dolphins in the AFC East division.

If we know Brady, he’s not satisfied with the Wild-Card berth. He wants to hoist the Lombardi Trophy for the seventh-time, and we’re sure it’ll make every Patriots fan sick to their stomach.
