Here are some fantasy football options for the final week of the season.

We have reached the final week of the NFL regular season. Thankfully, the NFL got to this point with just a few COVID hiccups. So, with that, we enter the final edition of this weekly article.

If we are being completely honest, this week is usually a wash for fantasy football. Although, this could still help those who play weekly fantasy football, or those who are still, unfortunately, trying to win championships in Week 17.

With some playoff seeding and positioning still up for grabs, some competitive football will be played this week. Therefore, there are still big, important performances to be had.

Without further ado, let us crack into this final edition of “5 breakout fantasy football stars to pick up for Week…).

Who knows who Bill Belichick elects to put under center during the team’s finale at home against the New York Jets? He will have to decide if he wants to give Cam Newton one more start or use the game as some sort of an evaluation method for Jarrett Stidham.

Either way, that should not matter much in regard to adding wide receiver Jakobi Meyers. Yes, he probably carries ‘more’ value if it is Newton who goes, which there has been no indication that he will not start this week for the New England Patriots.

Meyers has been the team’s most consistent receiver this season, and a target who Newton has felt comfortable throwing to quite a bit. In three games this year, he has seen 10+ targets. He has had five other games with five or more targets while going for over 100 yards twice.

New York’s defense has not been great against the pass, allowing opponent receivers some handsome fantasy scores. Although, this defense has played better at times with young players in the secondary, such as Week 15 against the Los Angeles Rams.

This is still a Belichick-led team, and he has had the Jets’ number for years. Meyers should be able to get his targets still, and he could very well go for a game as he did in Week 9 when these two teams played in New York. In that contest, he had 12 catches for 169 yards on 14 targets. Just add a touchdown, and that score could be massive.
