The San Diego Padres officially have a super-rotation, as they are close to acquiring NL Cy Young runner-up Yu Darvish.

On Sunday evening, the San Diego Padres made their presence felt after pulling off a blockbuster trade with the Tampa Bay Rays to land ace pitcher Blake Snell. On Monday, the Padres agreed to terms with KBO star infielder Ha-Seong Kim to a multi-year contract. If you thought Padres general manager AJ Preller was done making moves, you’re sadly mistaken.

According to reports, the Padres have aquired right-handed pitcher Yu Darvish and catcher Victor Caratini from the Chicago Cubs. Contrary to initial reports, the Padres will not be sending catcher Luis Campusano to Chicago in the trade.

This trade is far from a surprise as it’s been on the horizon for some time.
