College football DFS wide receiver picks December 29:

Top Tier:

Tylan Wallace didn’t opt out, so he’s going to be a great target for Sanders. Miami’s secondary will give up some big plays. This is a great matchup for Wallace and a good chance for him to shake off an inconsistent season and launch his draft stock back into the first round.

Mike Harley is faster than many of the motorcycles that he shares a name with. He’ll break at least one here, which makes him worth a look in GPP formats. Brevin Jordan will be the guy with the more consistent stat line since I see King having to check down a few times.

Middle Tier:

Dillon Stoner came up huge for the Cowboys yet again when half the team was COVIDed. His 247 yards against Baylor were almost half of his season total though, so don’t get too excited. Wallace is going to take a lot of that thunder away.

Brenden Rice is electric just like his father Jerry, but Colorado hasn’t given him enough chances to warrant paying this for him. Rice hasn’t caught more than two passes in a game or been targeted more than three times. He’s a huge risk and you’re paying for a ceiling game. That’s a dangerous way to play DFS. However, the absence of Brady Russell could mean more targets for Rice. La’Vontae Shenault is going to get most of the looks, but Rice is the guy who can break the slate.

The lack of a big play receiver castrated the Texas offense this season. They finally got their running back situation figured out, but they found no one to replace Collin Johnson or Devin Duvernay. Jake Smith is the only Texas receiver I feel remotely good about with Brennan Eagles opting out of the Alamo Bowl.

Bargain Shoppers:

K.D. Nixon is still way too cheap. Nixon is the most consistent Colorado receiver and comes at a nice value here. The Texas defense can be had. Nixon hasn’t scored a touchdown this year, but he’s not priced like he needs to score one either. As long as Nixon hauls in four or five passes, he’s done what we need him to do.

Joshua Moore was supposed to be the next big Texas receiver. Now he has four combined catches in the last four games. However, he’s primed for a rebound with Eagles out. I like Moore as a sneaky GPP play, but he’s still a massive risk.

Washington State transfer Tay Martin came on some at the end of the year for Oklahoma State, but I don’t see him being a big factor in this game. Sanders looks to Martin near the end of his progressions. If you think Miami forces him to dump more then Martin is a decent punt.
