Fantasy Stars & Studs, Week 16: Non-Alvin Kamara league-winners
Deshaun Watson – Houston Texans
You’ve probably heard a similar tale before, but a late turnover doomed the Houston Texans to another defeat on Sunday as they were beaten at home by the lowly Cincinnati Bengals.
It was yet another bitter pill for the Texans to swallow in what has been an utterly miserable season for Houston. There was, however, some cheer for fantasy owners in a game dominated by offense, as Watson produced one of the better quarterback performances of the week.
Before his fumble effectively sealed the game for the Bengals, Watson had lit up the stat sheet for the Texans and finished the game with 324 yards passing and three touchdowns, rewarding fantasy managers who went with him as their quarterback for the championship round with 26.8 points.
Watson will continue to hold significant long-term value in all formats because of the remarkable dual-threat talent he is.
His ceiling, however, is dependent on what the Texans do in the offseason, with upgrades on the offensive line and at the offensive skill positions required for Watson to truly realize his incredible potential.
In the immediate future, though, Watson is a high-upside DFS play against the aforementioned Titans defense in Week 17, having scored 32 fantasy points against that group in Week 6.
