College football DFS running back picks December 30:

Top Tier:

This is a huge spot for Rhamondre Stevenson. Florida’s run defense has been good but not great. Oklahoma is going to have to run the ball to have success against the Gators and it feels like they’re ready to do that. Stevenson is the most expensive RB by far but should be worth the price.

Middle Tier:

Wake’s run defense has been a problem all year. This is a huge spot for both Garrett Groshek and Jalen Berger. Wisconsin seems to favor Berger more, but Groshek’s big game against Minnesota should see him get plenty of work in the bowl game.

I don’t mind avoiding that situation all together and using Christian Beal-Smith. Just keep in mind that Wisconsin’s run defense is the best unit on the entire team. The Badgers only allowed 93.7 yards per game on the ground and gave up just one rushing touchdown in six games. Beal-Smith is a huge risk against this unit.

Bargain Shoppers:

I don’t trust any part of this Florida run game. Oklahoma’s strength on defense is the front seven. If you must use one I lean a little more towards Dameon Pierce. However, Florida has started to use Nay’Quan Wright out of the backfleld just to toss passes to. Wright is a decent GPP option on the cheap.

There’s really only one reason to play Jeremiah Hall. He doesn’t get any carries. You are playing him hoping that Oklahoma targets him in the red zone again for a cheap touchdown. His floor is zero though. Literally zero.
