College football DFS picks December 31: Plitt is the…..

College football DFS running back picks December 31:
Top Tier:
Leddie Brown feels overpriced here. West Virginia’s line may be able to get some leverage on Army, but I don’t see Brown hitting the 3-4x value needed for a takedown. He’ll be lucky to get 2x.
Middle Tier:
We saw Boise lock down Tyler Nevens and force the Spartans to throw. I expect the same strategy from Ball State. The first back I would even consider using is Jo’Quavious Marks because he’s targeted so often out of the backfield.
It’s amazing that Jakobi Buchanan still gets 20 carries per game considering the amount of carries both quarterbacks get. Army will throw less than five passes no matter what the score of this game is, so any runner in the Army offense is a solid bet. Someone has upside, but good luck guessing right on who it is.
Corey Taylor’s performance against a tough Cincinnati front seven is encouraging for this matchup. Mississippi State’s run defense is better than the pass defense, but Tulsa is still geared to run the ball more. I expect a healthy workload out of Taylor again. He feels cheap compared to all of the overpriced backs on this slate.
Bargain Shoppers:
I would rather use Kairee Robinson for San Jose State if you want a Spartans back. He has nine receptions in the last three games. That’s where his value lies. Nevens will get beaten up leaving Robinson to chew up yards on short passes.
This is a unique college football DFS slate in that there are so many good run defenses on here that we have starting running backs in the value tier. Tye Evans and Dillon Johnson will both get healthy workloads. The bad news is that they are going against top 12 run defenses. The real hidden gem in the lower tier is Deneric Prince. Prince still gets plenty of carries backing up Taylor and I do expect Tulsa to still run 30 times.
