College football DFS quarterback picks January 2:

Top Tier:

I wouldn’t trust Matt Corral against this defense. He has at least five interceptions in two different games this season. When Corral is off, he’s way off. I don’t want to take that big of a risk in this price range.

The way to attack A&M is on the ground. Sam Howell will have a solid game, but the ceiling is lower than most on this slate. I suppose Tyler Shough is in play, but that Iowa State defense is a very underrated unit. If you aren’t rolling the dice with Corral’s ceiling, pay down at quarterback.

Middle Tier:

The first QB I really have interest in is Kellen Mond. North Carolina’s defense has been gouged all season long and mobile quarterbacks have given them trouble. I’m not sure Mond puts up a huge line, but I wont be surprised if he outscores all three options on front of him.

Brock Purdy might be my favorite QB on the slate. Hall is the smash spot, but Purdy is an excellent option in the middle tier. I don’t see Oregon stopping Hall, but if the Ducks offense gets going, the Cyclones are going to need Purdy here. They may have to lean on him a little bit.

Bargain Shoppers:

As far as matchups go, Jack Tuttle easily has the best one on the slate. Tuttle’s only start of the season was a solid performance against a good Wisconsin defense. He’s going to go nuts on Ole Miss.

I like Bailey Hockman, but I don’t trust him at all here. Kentucky’s defense is strong across the board. I would rather use Terry Wilson on the other side since the Wolfpack struggle against the run. Wilson is a really sneaky pick here.
