College football DFS running back picks January 2:

Top Tier:

If you aren’t using Breece Hall against Oregon, I want to thank you for your donation to my basketball fund. Don’t overthink this. Hall is the best option on the entire slate and isn’t priced like it.

I have thought for a while that Chris Rodriguez was the best of the Kentucky backs. He spent the last month of the season proving it. Rodriguez has a superb matchup here and should put up another big score in the bowl game.

Middle Tier:

Those Texas A&M backs are fun to watch. I prefer Isaiah Spiller here again, but you really can’t go wrong with Ainias Smith either. Both backs will be featured heavily against Carolina’s suspect run defense.

The Cincinnati run defense is a good unit, but with James Cook out, we’ll see Zamir White with perhaps his largest workload of the season. My issue is that White is more expensive than Tank. White has more upside, but 95 times out of 100, Tank will outscore him and not by an insignificant margin.

Watch out for Elijah Green here. He should be the starting back for North Carolina with the top two options opting out. Josh Henderson is worth a look too.

Bargain Shoppers:

This could be a coming out party for Henry Parrish. Jerrion Ealy is out this game, so Parrish should carry a lot of the load. I still really like Snoop Connor at the price, but keep in mind that this Indiana defense held Ohio State’s run offense. Use the Ole Miss parts sparingly.

Travis Dye‘s skill set matches up pretty well with the Cyclones, but Stevie Scott is the best value on the slate. Indiana will lean on Scott with Penix out. Mississippi can’t stop the run. We could see Scott turn in totals that rival the high priced guys at the position. Tim Baldwin is also an intriguing option of you need to go really cheap.
