The Washington Football Team can clinch the NFC East division with a win.
Washington’s inauspicious start to the season is long behind them, as they have an opportunity to clinch a playoff berth by beating the division rival Eagles on Sunday night. Few pundits considered this fate a possibility before the season, especially given Dwayne Haskins’ untimely release and injuries to several key positions.
Yet, Washington’s defense has matured faster than expected, with Chase Young leading one of the youngest, most elite defensive lines in the NFL. Expect them to chase Jalen Hurts all night long.
Can the Eagles pull off an upset and play spoiler?
Give the Eagles some credit: Since they made the move from Carson Wentz to Hurts, Doug Pederson’s group has been far more competitive offensively. Hurts gave this team a jolt when they needed it most, but they’re dealing with a number of injuries heading into this game.
Meanwhile, Washington quarterback Alex Smith has the chance at the ultimate redemption story. Smith was nearly out of the league entirely after a devastating injury a few short years ago. In an improbable comeback to the NFL, he’s regained much of his previous pocket presence, and brings a veteran mindset this team desperately needed.
How to watch Washington Football Team vs Eagles
The game should kick off around 8:20 p.m. ET from Lincoln Financial Field. NBC will have the broadcast, but should you need other means to watch it, the NFL streams subreddit community should have you covered.
