If one thing has been shown, assuming heās their guy now that they have the third overall pick in the draft via a trade with the Houston Texans, itās that the Dolphins need to surround Tua Tagovailoa with better talent. A rookie season that did not have normal ramp up is not enough to draw conclusions, so itās up to Miami to pick a direction and go in on it. Drafting another quarterback in April is not out of the question.
Regardless, the Dolphins need to add weapons. DeVante Parker is a fine player, but heās not necessarily a No. 1 wide receiver in the respect we think of it. After him, the wide receiver depth chart is not very impressive right now.
Miami made aggressive moves to bolster the defense last offseason, with greatlyĀ improved results this season to back it up the effort. This offseason, with around $33 million in cap space available (seventh-most in the league right now), it looks likely to be the offenseās turn with some focus on a deep class of wide receivers. Godwin would be an easy target, and one that could be a relative bargain coming of a down year.
