Per a report, a pair of Eagles players had to be held back from going after Doug Pederson after Jalen Hurts was benched.

There’s been plenty of drama surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles in recent weeks, but things reached a new level on Sunday against the Washington Football Team. With the Eagles hoping to end the season with a win, and New York Giants fans praying for it to happen, Doug Pederson benched Jalen Hurts in the middle of a close game in favor of Nate Sudfeld.

With it being a meaningless game for Philadelphia, Pederson said he just wanted to give Sudfeld some snaps, but Eagles players were furious because they indeed wanted that victory.

Per a report, some guys were so ticked off that Hurts wasn’t on the field, they had to be stopped from going after Pederson to give him a strong piece of their minds.

Doug Pederson infuriated several Philadelphia Eagles players on Sunday

Per insider Jeff McLane, two defensive players indeed had to be held back from going after Pederson. On top of that, multiple offensive players went to their head coach to ask why Hurts wasn’t on the field. Eagles players felt like they were basically throwing the game when they surely had a chance to win it.

In the end, Washington took home a 20-14 victory. With the loss, the Eagles ended their season at 4-11-1. It was a campaign to forget, with many still talking about Carson Wentz losing his starting job to Hurts. Now, the expectation is that Wentz will demand a trade this offseason.

Come 2021, this football team is going to have a completely different feel to it. Following Sunday’s debacle, it’s clear Pederson will have some work to do to as well to win back the love and respect of many inside the locker room.
