2020 College football award winners: Mac Jones wins Davey O’Brien

The stars were out in full force for the 2020 college football awards on Thursday night.
With only one more college football game left this season between the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide and the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes, Thursday night was time for the college football awards to be handed out.
On Tuesday night, we saw Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith take home the Heisman Trophy, edging a trio of quarterbacks, including this year’s Davey O’Brien Award winner in his Alabama teammate Mac Jones. Tulsa Golden Hurricane linebacker Zaven Collins took home the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and the Chuck Bednarik Award for his excellence on the defensive side of the ball.

Naturally, the top-seeded Crimson Tide were well-represented in this year’s college football awards. Jones took home the Davey O’Brien, as well as the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm. Smith won the Paul Hornung Award for the most versatile player in the game. The Alabama offensive line saw Alex Leatherwood win the Outland Trophy and Landon Dickerson take home the Rimington Trophy.
