1. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts are the ideal landing spot for Watson. They have a roster that is loaded with talent and is ready for Super Bowl contention. Signing Philip Rivers to a one-year deal helped Indianapolis sneak into the playoffs this season, but it’s time for Frank Reich to get his hands on a true difference-maker at the position.

Watson’s arrival would immediately transform the Colts’ attack from being interesting to becoming one of the most lethal units in the NFL. Combine that with the team’s stingy defense and it’s easy to see why Indianapolis would instantly possess a roster recipe worthy of title consideration.

In many ways, the Colts’ front office has been waiting to make a move like this ever since Chris Ballard arrived. The team deserves a lot of credit for keeping their powder dry instead of overpaying for veterans in free agency. That’s allowed Indianapolis to preserve the type of salary cap room required to fit Watson in without any real difficulty.

It’s time for Indianapolis to make their fans forget about Andrew Luck’s retirement. Landing Watson in a seismic trade would immediately make the Colts Super Bowl favorites heading into 2021. They need to part with whatever draft compensation is required to bring the All-Pro to Indy.
