The Los Angeles Lakers are hopeful they can visit Joe Biden at the White House in 2021.

After four years of not making the trek to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, the Los Angeles Lakers are looking forward to possibly visiting the White House once the 46th President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, has been sworn into office.

Prior to Donald Trump being elected back in 2016, it had been customary for the reigning NBA champion to visit the White House whenever they were in town to play the Washington Wizards.

The last NBA champions to visit the White House were the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers when Barack Obama was in office. It will be tricky because of COVID-19, but the Lakers remain hopeful.

When would the Lakers look to visit Joe Biden at the White House?

Even though the Lakers are favored to repeat as NBA champions, there are no guarantees Los Angeles will be the last team standing this summer. Because the Lakers play in the opposite conference of the Wizards, they will only have one game in the nation’s capital this year. The Lakers at Wizards date has not been set yet, but we know it will take place in the second half.

The other component to keep an eye on here is the ongoing global pandemic. Biden is in his late 70s and inviting the entire 2019-20 Lakers team and staff to the White House is easier said than done at this point. However, with many medical professionals getting the vaccine, there is hope Biden and the White House staff could make it work for the Lakers to pay them a little visit soon.

Surely, Biden and the White House will be able to get the 2019-20 Lakers over for a visit in 2021.
