3 Deshaun Watson trades the Bears could make this offseason

Trade No. 2
Last offseason, the Bears declined the fifth-year option on Trubisky’s rookie contract because he never lived up to the expectations placed upon him. So, general manager Ryan Pace decided to acquire Nick Foles in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars with the hope being that he’d either push Trubisky in training camp or become the starter and lead the Bears to victory.
There were bright spots with Foles after entering in relief of Trubisky in Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons and helping lead the team to a 5-1 start. But then, Foles ended up suffering a hip injury in Week 10 against the Minnesota Vikings, thus allowing Trubisky to regain his role as starter. This season, Foles threw for 1,852 yards, 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions on a 64.7 completion percentage.
Considering the Texans would lose Watson, they can get a bridge quarterback in Foles. Additionally, Foles carries a $6.7 million cap hit for the 2021 season. Not to mention, there is an opt-out clause at the conclusion of next season. Throwing in two first-rounders and a 2021 third-rounder should get the deal done.
Yeah, Foles isn’t the greatest quarterback, but he’d serve as the de facto starter to allow them to groom their rookie quarterback who will be selected with their 2021 first-round pick. Who could it be? Mac Jones? Kyle Trask? Whatever the case may be, the Texans would have options.
