The Los Angeles Rams’ star defensive lineman left the game in the third quarter with a rib injury.

When it comes to important players, no one is more pivotal to the success of the Los Angeles Rams than star defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Just 24 hours ago, Rams was named an unanimous All-Pro by the Associated Press, which certainly motivated him ahead of the Wild Card game against the Seattle Seahawks. After a usual dominant start, injury struck Donald.

In the third quarter, Donald took down Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson immediately after throw a pass. In the process of the tackle, Wilson’s hip landed directly on the abdominal region of Donald, forcing him to leave the game.

The Rams officially listed Donald as questionable to return to the game with a rib injury.

Donald’s absence looms large for Rams

Luckily for the Rams, Donald’s absence didn’t last too long, as he returned to the sidelines late in the third quarter while wearing his helmet. However, Donald would retreat to the locker room area again prior to the start of the fourth quarter.

Entering this pivotal game against a hated division rival, Donald had accumulated 45 total tackles, 13.5 sacks and four forced fumbles in the contest. His sack total is tied for the second-most in the league alongside Trey Hendrickson of the New Orleans Saints.

Prior to his rib injury, Donald had recorded three tackles, three quarterback hits, two sacks and two tackles for loss.

This, unfortunately, wasn’t the only injury the Rams had to deal with, as starting quarterback John Wolford was transported to a local hospital due to a neck injury following a hit by Seahawks safety Jamal Adams.

This playoff game got a lot more stressful for Rams fans without their stud at the line of scrimmage. We should get a better idea of Donald’s injury status at the conclusion of the contets.
