Dodgers’ Mookie Betts gets engaged to longtime girlfriend after 15 years together.
It only took Mookie Betts 15 years to put a ring on it. Ladies, be patient. You might just bag yourself a professional athlete with a triple million dollar paycheck.
“[Brianna Hammonds] has been by my side since we were teenagers,” he wrote on Instagram. “Together we’ve grown mentally, physically, and spiritually. She is my best friend, mother of my child, my lover and my soon to be wife. Winning another World Series was great, but putting a ring on my MVP is the real belssing! I am a blessed man.”
The Dodgers outfielder announced he’d (finally) popped the question to Brianna Hammonds who he’d been dating for a whopping 15 years. Hammonds is also the mother to Betts’ child.
He spoke to People magazine after the announcement.
“Brianna has been by my side since we were teenagers. Together we’ve grown mentally, physically, and spiritually. She is my best friend, mother of my child, my lover, and my soon-to-be wife.”
“Jan. 7, 2021, was more than I could [have] imagined..thank you my love for all the hard work and every little detail put into this beautiful night,” Hammonds wrote on her Instagram. “I can’t wait to marry you!”
Details of the Mooke Betts engagement are swoonworthy
The pair met in middle school and have been dating ever since.
The engagement came as a surprise and was disguised as an award ceremony for Betts, then he got down on one knee. People reports he presented her with a seven-carat diamond ring after reading her a poem.
Now they both have the ring they were hoping for.
