Patrick Mahomes loved what he saw out of Aaron Donald in his NFC playoff game.

While Patrick Mahomes was at home like the rest of us watching the NFL playoffs, he tweeted out the admiration he has for Aaron Donald.

With Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs on bye, he took in the Saturday slate of games, thoroughly enjoying what Donald did on the Los Angeles Rams‘ defense. Donald battled through injury, but his ferocious tenacity was key in the Rams stunning the Seattle Seahawks on the road in Wild Card Weekend. Los Angeles advances to the NFC Divisional Round, thanks to Donald’s big game.

When someone asks you who the best player in the NFL is, they are most likely to say Mahomes is, unless they really love their favorite team’s starting quarterback. But when it comes to the best non-quarterback in football, you would be hard-pressed to pick anyone other than the Rams’ star defensive tackle. He is a major disruptor in the trenches and one of the best players to ever do it.

When you are the best at your craft like Mahomes is slinging the pigskin and Donald is at embarrassing offensive linemen, running backs and quarterbacks, you often tip your hat to a job well done. Donald had three tackles, all solo, two sacks and both for a loss of yardage, as well as three quarterback hits on the afternoon. He was a difference-maker for the Rams defense.
