The Seahawks were known for āThe Legion of Boomā during their glory days in the early 2010s. A four-man unit comprised of one the leagueās greatest secondaries, that helped Seattle make a pair of Super Bowls, claiming a title in 2013.
Since then, Seattle has been trying to duplicate the success. Adams and Quandre Diggs are far from Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor, but theyāve been strong on the back end. At cornerback, itās been mixed results from all the members. However, if one name sticks out, it would be Shaquill Griffin.
Since being drafted out of UCF in 2017, Griffin has been a key starter on the outside. Heās set to his the free agent market along withĀ Quinton Dunbar and Neiko Thorpe. Of the three, Griffin has been the most consistent in coverage despite dealing with injuries.
Markets for cornerbacks will be high, but Seattle needs to keep the unit together. As the season came to a close, the Seahawksā defense was the reason for the teamās success. A name like Dunbar could be replaced, but Griffin is a tad tougher.
Ultimately, money talks, but so does production. Both meet in the middle for the two to come to an agreement for a long-term deal.
