DeVonta Smith breaks SEC’s all-time receiving yards record
By Mike Luciano
DeVonta Smith is now the top receiver in SEC history.
Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Devonta Smith broke yet another record in his magnificent 2020-21 season. Smith passed former Vanderbilt star Jordan Matthews on the all-time SEC receiving yards list, making him the top receiver in the history of the conference.
DeVonta Smith just keeps piling up accolades this season
Not only has Smith vaulted himself into Top 10 pick consideration and accomplished the rare feat of winning the Heisman trophy as a wide receiver after hauling in 20 touchdown passes, but he did so on an Alabama team that is favored to win the championship after dominating the SEC. Another championship ring on his hand would be a nice parting gift for Smith before he goes to the pros.
