Alabama football fans took to the streets and celebrated on The Strip after defying COVID guidelines to create a super-spreader event.

Alabama football won the National Championship with a dominating performance over the Ohio State Buckeyes on Monday night from Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.

After the game, Alabama football fans celebrated the sixth title during the Nick Saban era and 18th national championship in program history with thousands gathering on the Tuscaloosa Strip.

COVID guidelines were disregarded as Crimson Tide fans were packed in the streets like sardines in a tin can. The photos and videos from the scene show the masses not wearing masks or practicing social distancing. The footage is enough to make Dr. Fauci cringe and anyone else who has sheltered in place, worn a mask and followed COVID guidelines to the best of their ability, cringe.

And for the coaches and players who followed strict COVID guidelines since the summer so they could play football and bring a championship to these fans, it’s a big slap in the face. By honoring and celebrating these players, they did a big disservice to their sacrifice.

Hopefully, none of the people who were celebrating the national title will end up getting COVID and passing it along to someone else who then spreads it to someone else and that’s a global pandemic that’s especially plagued the southern United States continues to see record-highs as far as cases and deaths.
