Davante Adams’ warning to opposing defenses should terrify NFL
By Scott Rogust
The Green Bay Packers put the rest of the NFL on notice following his ridiculous performance against the Los Angeles Rams.
In the first act of the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs, the Green Bay Packers emerged victorious over the Los Angeles Rams. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers solidified his status as the favorite to win the NFL MVP award, and he got some help in the form of star wide receiver Davante Adams. The wideout managed to catch nine passes for 66 yards and a touchdown against the top scoring defense in the NFL.
After the postgame celebration, Adams was asked whether any team can stop him if even the Aaron Donald-Jalen Ramsey Rams defense couldn’t. The wideout replied that there’s nobody that can stop him, and he’s proven it every time.
Adams is proving he’s the best in the game
Throughout the regular season, the Rams had limited opposing quarterbacks and wide receivers to a league-low 190.7 yards per game. Even when facing the Seahawks, the Rams surrendered just 142 passing yards. This is the same team that has Russell Wilson at quarterback and DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett at receiver.
Green Bay proved to be too much of a challenge for Los Angeles. Granted, their defense struggled with Donald, their star defensive tackle, limited to just 39 defensive snaps as he fought through torn rib cartilage. Regardless, Adams still managed to cut through Los Angeles’ defensive backfield and caught all but one of his targets.
Now, Adams and the Packers await the winner of Sunday’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers-New Orleans Saints game. Adams played the Buccaneers this season, where he recorded six receptions for 61 yards in the team’s 38-10 loss. The Packers did play the Saints this season, but Adams sat out due to a hamstring injury. Even with his absence, Green Bay defeated New Orleans by the score of 37-30.
Whoever the winner is, they’ll have to find a way to make Adams a non-factor. Good luck with that.
