Green Bay Packers fans showed their appreciation for Aaron Rodgers by starting an MVP chant after he beat the Rams to advance in the playoffs.

Lambeau Field was far from full for the Packers‘ divisional-round playoff matchup with the Rams, but the M-V-P chants rained down in full force anyway.

Fans serenaded Aaron Rodgers as he ran off the field after putting away Los Angeles, 32-18, to advance to the NFC title game.

The veteran quarterback followed up one of his strong regular seasons ever by guiding the Packers through their first playoff challenge with 296 yards and two touchdowns passing, plus a third on the ground.

It wasn’t his most spectacular outing, but he sure looked like an MVP.

Rodgers appears well on his way to a third career MVP award.

He finished the regular season with a career-best 48 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He had a career-best pass completion percentage, touchdown percentage, interception percentage and QBR.

Saturday’s performance only reaffirmed his push to be named the league’s most valuable player.

The difference against the Rams was that Packers fans were there in person to witness it for the first time this season. Attendance was capped at 7,500 and the air was chilly but the Green Bay faithful turned out to support their quarterback and their team.

It was tight early. The teams traded field goals in the first quarter before Rodgers put two touchdowns on the board to give the Packers some cushion. A touchdown from Jared Goff with just a few seconds remaining in the half cut into the lead before Mason Crosby added another field goal as time expired.

A touchdown for each side in the third quarter had the game still in some doubt entering the fourth. Rodgers put that to bed by hitting Allen Lazard with a strike on a 58-yard score.
