Chad Henne comes up big, as he carries the Kansas City Chiefs to the AFC Championship game.

With the game on the line, Kansas City Chiefs backup quarterback Chad Henne gave the world the greatest play of his life.

Filling in for an injured Patrick Mahomes, who was ruled out for the rest of the game due to a concussion, Henne took it upon himself to scramble on a third-and-14 to help defeat the Cleveland Browns. While he was a foot short of converting, he completed a quick out pass to wide receiver Tyreek Hill on the next play to punch the Chiefs ticket to the AFC Championship game.

Chiefs will host the Bills in the 2020 AFC Championship game

The route to Super Bowl 55 out of the AFC will run through Arrowhead Stadium. It will be a clash between the two best teams in the AFC, as the top-seeded Chiefs will host the No. 2 Buffalo Bills next Sunday. Kansas City becomes the first team to host the AFC Championship game three years in a row. Buffalo is one win away from getting to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1993.

Obviously, Mahomes’ health is the most important thing in the lead-up to this conference title bout. Assuming he clears concussion protocol, the Chiefs will be the heavy favorite to win the AFC Championship. Should Henne have to start instead, Buffalo will be a road favorite in Arrowhead. While Cleveland gave a great effort, Henne’s late fourth-quarter heroics were the difference.

On Sunday afternoon, Henne became a legend forever in the eyes of Chiefs Kingdom.
