Chiefs fans react on social media to nail-biting playoff win over Browns
Kansas City Chiefs’ fans had some thoughts on their close playoff win.
The Divisional Round has been a bit of a snoozer so far but the Kansas City Chiefs gave their fans a major scare today. Patrick Mahomes left with a concussion in the second half but the Chiefs managed to hold on and defeat the Cleveland Browns 22-17 to advance to the AFC Championship Game.
The game came down to the wire as Chad Henne proved to be the hero, converting a fourth and inches on a rollout pass to Tyreek Hill in the final minutes to ice the game. Mahomes certainly approved, tweeting his enthusiasm after the game.

This game was certainly fraught in peril once Mahomes left as the Browns went down the field and scored a touchdown to make it a 22-17 game. The Browns ended up putting themselves in a bad situation thanks to poor clock management down the stretch and their defense couldn’t stop Kansas City when it mattered most.
The big question for the Chiefs is whether or not Mahomes will be able to clear the concussion protocol before Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills. Getting through a half against the Browns with Henne is one thing but it will be a big ask for them to have him beat a strong Buffalo team to secure another trip to the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs are also very lucky to have Andy Reid as their head coach. Reid’s aggressive approach to the contest once Mahomes left was the right attitude to help Kansas City make just enough plays to hold off Cleveland and advance.
