After leaving the Browns win with a concussion, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid gave an encouraging update on the health of Patrick Mahomes.

The Kansas City Chiefs are heading to the AFC Championship Game where they’ll go head-to-head with the Buffalo Bills for their shot at another Super Bowl appearance. But after a scary tackle in the third quarter of Sunday’s game, they weren’t sure they’d have their star quarterback with them. Now, just after the game, the team, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, have given the fans a promising update.

“I just talked to him,” head coach Andy Reid told the media following the game. “He’s doing good. We’ll see how he is tomorrow but right now he’s feeling good.”

Mahomes himself echoed the good news on his own Twitter page.

Reid also downplayed what looked really rough in real-time.

“He got hit in the back of the head and kind of knocked the wind out of him,” he said. He’s doing great right now, which is a real positive, passed all the deals that he needed to pass so we’ll see where it goes from here.”

We’re all holding our breath about the final word in regards to if Mahomes will play next Sunday or not. For now, we’ll hold on to these nuggets of good news and hope it only goes uphill for Mahomes from here.
