The Ravens are moving on from running back Mark Ingram after he sat out most of the 2020 season.
The Baltimore Ravens suffered yet another early postseason exit in a game that saw the offense score a total of three points against the Buffalo Bills. Lamar Jackson left with an injury and the Ravens will need to figure out if the current formula will ever win a Super Bowl.
One change being made is at the running back position. Veteran back Mark Ingram showed up in 2019 on a three-year deal and is reportedly being let go this week.
Baltimore is releasing veteran RB Mark Ingram on Tuesday, per league sources. The move will save the Ravens $5 million against the 2021 cap and allow Ingram to get an early jump on free agency.

Ingram is healthy and believes he has plenty to offer for 2021.
Ingram out in Baltimore
Fans paying attention to social media Monday night were alerted to this news by Ingram himself before the NFL media started reporting the release.

The veteran saw his playing time plummet in 2020 as J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards held down the position. Ingram was also placed on the COVID-19 list and only appeared in a total of 11 games. He was not even active for Sunday’s game in Buffalo.
This move is one that frees up money and also comes as a bit of goodwill by the Ravens. He is clearly not in the team’s future plans and can now search for a new team where he can be the top guy or at least in the normal rotation at running back.
Ingram ran for over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2019 after coming over from New Orleans. Then the team went out and drafted Dobbins, effectively pushing the veteran down the depth chart. Being placed on the COVID list only limited his role further once he returned.
He is still only 31 years old and limited action in 2020 should have him fresh and ready to go for a new team in 2021. Ingram showed leadership from the moment he arrived in Baltimore and should be able to find a new home rather soon.
