Eagles are interviewing Cowboys coach to replace Doug Pederson

The Philadelphia Eagles are looking at a Dallas Cowboys coach to replace Doug Pederson.

With one of the final two head-coaching vacancies available in the NFL, the Philadelphia Eagles are seriously looking at someone from the arch rival Dallas Cowboys‘ staff to replace Doug Pederson.

According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Eagles are interviewing Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to be Pederson’s replacement. Moore has been on the Cowboys’ coaching staff since retiring from playing in 2017. Though he is only 32 years old, Moore was up for his alma mater Boise State Broncos’ gig that ultimately went to another alum in Andy Avalos.

Is Kellen Moore ready to be an NFL head coach?

Moore was a terrific college quarterback at Boise State. While arm talent and a lack of athleticism limited him to a six-year NFL playing career, Moore is well-thought-of in his second profession as a coach. His rapport with Dak Prescott stems to their playing days together in Dallas from 2016 to 2017. Though his offense has not been explosive yet, good job for Philadelphia interviewing him.

At the very least, the Eagles can do their homework on an up-and-coming coach from within the NFC East division. Moore may be an NFL head coach one day, but he feels a tad too green on the vine to get hired either this offseason cycle or next.

Then again, the Eagles are taking their time to find the right head-coaching candidate for them. If it ends up being Moore, it would be interesting.

Moore being named the next head coach would not be the weirdest thing to happen to the Eagles.
