The Packers need to get Aaron Rodgers more help in the 2021 NFL Draft to get to the Super Bowl after falling short in the NFC Championship Game.

The Packers’ front office had a golden opportunity to make Aaron Rodgers’ job easier last offseason and they failed. Don’t look for Green Bay to make the same mistake twice.

Yes, Green Bay still has some defensive needs to fill, but expect this pick to help strengthen the offensive side of the ball. Two of the team’s top three running backs are ticketed for free agency. Aaron Jones will likely get a deal that exceeds the team’s price range. If Jamaal Williams follows him out the door then the Packers will need to draft a partner for A.J. Dillon in their backfield.

The team also needs to find a wide receiver capable of taking some pressure off of Rodgers and DeVante Adams. What the duo did this year was nothing short of remarkable. Expecting them to do it again would be a great sign of arrogance by the Packers’ front office.

Packers fans should watch the following three prospects with keen interest during the pre-draft process.

Packers targets in the 2021 NFL Draft

879. . Running back. Tigers . Travis Etienne. 31. player

Etienne disappointed quite a few teams when he elected to return to Clemson after their National Title win a season ago. He won’t get a chance to win that hardware again this year, but he’ll be comforted by the reality that he might be the top running back in this year’s draft class.

His ability to catch the ball out of the backfield should be of particular interest to the Packers. Rodgers could benefit from a safety blanket who can turn short check-downs into big plays. That could be particularly important to Rogers as he begins to experience some age-related regression.

Spending a first-rounder on a running back after taking Dillon in Round 2 last year might be overkill, but the Packers’ front office won’t be afraid to make an unconventional choice if they believe Etienne is a potential star.
