The Packers were ragged on the past year for not bolstering their receiving corps in the offseason. Even though the squad underperformed in 2019, they drastically improved this season. Davante Adams was, well, Davante Adams, Allen Lazard proved to be a worthy No. 2 wideout on the roster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling broke out as a legit deep threat for the Packers.

All three wideouts stepped up in the NFC Championship Game, but if there was one pass-catcher who figuratively and literally dropped the ball, it’s Equanimeous St. Brown.

In the third quarter, the Packers orchestrated a 13-play scoring drive with Rodgers hitting Adams in the end zone for a two-yard touchdown. Down 28-23, the Packers decided to go for the two-point conversion to pull within a field goal. Rodgers targeted St. Brown on the two-point attempt and even though it was slightly tipped by Tampa Bay defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, the pass hit the wideout directly in the hands. The problem was, St. Brown couldn’t secure it and dropped it to the Frozen Tundra’s turf.

If St. Brown had caught this pass, it could have altered LaFleur’s strategy on that final drive in the fourth quarter. Given that he’s the fourth wideout on the depth chart, St. Brown could find himself on the outs with Devin Funchess returning next year and the likelihood of Green Bay drafting a wide receiver in April.
