Derek Carr had a breakout year. In what felt like a “prove-it” season, the veteran quarterback showed why Jon Gruden should believe in him for the future with a career-best 101.4 passer rating. He also threw for over 4,000 yards and 27 touchdowns.

The difference? Rodgers threw for 48 touchdowns and is still playing at a prime level.

The Raiders’ offensive line is above-average. The weapons could be great if Henry Ruggs III can develop and Tyrell Williams can remain healthy. Las Vegas also has a great tight end in Darren Waller and a serviceable run game with Josh Jacobs.

Carr would absolutely be in a trade sent to Green Bay, meaning a reunion for Davante Adams with his college quarterback. The question is, what else would it cost for Green Bay to let go of their franchise star?

Although improbable, it’s not impossible, Gruden needs something to prove his 10-year deal was worth it. Rodgers is that something.
