The Oklahoma football program just epically trolled the Nebraska football team.
With the Oklahoma Sooners announcing their three-game, non-conference slate for 2021, they had no issues whatsoever taking a not-so-subtle dig at the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Back in the day, the Oklahoma football program and the Nebraska football team were the two preeminent brands in the Big Eight. Both schools were part of the Big 12 from inception until the Cornhuskers left for the Big Ten a decade ago.

Things have not gone well for Big Red in Big Ten Country, and Oklahoma was quick to point that out with an unbelievably petty troll of the Huskers.
News release from Oklahoma refers to 2021 opponent Nebraska as “former intraconference juggernaut.”

Former conference or former juggernaut? Oh, both. pic.twitter.com/cTpgifdsfV
What is worse: Being a former intraconference rival or a former juggernaut?
The Oklahoma athletic department pointed out Nebraska left the Big Ten and they used to be a college football juggernaut in one fell swoop. When somebody calls you a “former intraconference juggernaut”, it pretty much means that you used to matter, but you no longer due. Nebraska may have helped bring back the Big Ten season, but the Huskers don’t go to bowl games anymore.
Of the three teams to join the Big Ten in the 21st century, not a single one of them has panned out for the Power 5 conference. Nebraska is far from a football power and neither the Maryland Terrapins nor the Rutgers Scarlet Knights have been anything more than gridiron doormats since switching conferences. All the while, Oklahoma has been largely unchallenged in the Big 12.
No love is lost between the Sooners and the Cornhuskers, even if Nebraska is not good anymore.
