WWE: Fastlane will be first pay-per-view of new NBC Peacock era

The WWE announces a huge move for their streaming platform.
The WWE announced on Monday, via press release that their streaming platform the WWE Network had been sold to NBC to air on their streaming app, Peacock.
American fans will have their network subscription migrated over to the Peacock platform in the coming weeks in preparation for WWE Fastlane, which is slated to be the first Pay-Per-View of the Peacock era of programming for the company.
The deal is reportedly valued at $1 billion over five years and ensures that all of the WWE Networks’ current library of past content, as well as all live streaming rights for future events, will be hosted on the Peacock platform in the United States. This announcement comes just a few days after it was announced that NBCSN would be shutting its doors at the conclusion of the 2021 NHL Season and be migrating to Peacock as well.
A Peacock partnership is nothing new
When Peacock launched early in 2020 it came with a small selection of WWE legacy content available to both paid and free users of the service. Which is no true surprise considering that Monday Night Raw, WWE’s flagship program and the longest-running episodic show on cable, has been on the USA Network which is owned by the WWE for its entire 27-year run.
What should be most exciting about this news for American wrestling fans is the price point. Peacock with ads is currently priced at $5 a month and it has been reported that the full library of WWE content, as well as live streams of PPVs, will be available at this reduced price for no additional cost.
The adless version is only $10 a month. The same cost as the WWE Network today and comes with the full catalog of NBC shows and licensed content.
