Tennessee football players react to Josh Heupel hiring
Tennessee football players are excited about the hiring of Josh Heupel as the Vols’ new head coach.
Mixed reviews and reactions are starting to roll in after the Tennessee Volunteers announced the hiring of Josh Heupel as their new head coach on Wednesday morning. Heupel is fresh off his first head coaching gig at UCF where he went 28-8 in three seasons with the Knights.
Heupel was hired by new Tennessee Vols AD Danny White, who also comes from UCF. Announced as Athletic Director last week, White gave Heupel his first head coaching job after previously providing offensive coordinator services for Missouri. Heupel replaced Scott Frost after he moved on to Nebraska. The highlight of Heupel’s tenure in Orlando was probably an undefeated season in his first year with the team before an eventual Fiesta Bowl loss to LSU.
As the fans continue to react to the news of the hiring, Tennessee football players are also starting to voice their opinions on the matter. At a glance, it seems that many of them are a fan of Josh Heupel’s work and are looking forward to getting back on the field.
