4. Kansas City Chiefs

While the Kansas City Chiefs don’t need Watt, per se, this organization has shown they will not hesitate to bring in the very best players inside their doors. Kansas City has shown on multiple occasions that they can get the most out of veteran talent, whether it was wide receiver Jeremy Maclin in the Alex Smith era or cornerback Bashaud Breeland more recently.

Watt and Chris Jones would form one of the league’s best 3-4 defensive end partnerships. This past season, Jones led the Chiefs with a whopping 28 QB hits and 7.5 sacks, furthering the notion that he is one of the NFL’s most explosive interior pass rushers.

To acquire Watt, the Chiefs would probably be more willing than most to give up draft capital, as they will once again have one of the last two picks in a given round. Furthermore, they have the best quarterback in the league and sufficient talent around him, so prioritizing a superstar player on the defensive side of the football is not an unwise play.

If Houston wants a player, Kansas City could give up Frank Clark. It would leave them with a question mark off the edge, as Alex Okafor is an impending free agent, but, for the Chiefs, it would be a sensible flip.

Of course, the Chiefs have more offensive talent than most, and if Houston sees a player they like on that side of the ball, the Chiefs could be willing to part with a backup running back or wide receiver. That said, from the Texans perspective, draft picks are king. A second-round pick or a package of mid-rounders might be enough to get a deal done.
