2021 NFL Mock Draft: Texans find a Deshaun Watson replacement in the first-round

The Atlanta Falcons do not necessarily need to move on from franchise quarterback Matt Ryan, but sitting at No. 4 overall, Justin Fields may be too hard a prospect to pass up on. There are a lot of quarterback-needy teams that could throw a bunch of assets at Atlanta for Ryan’s services, and an organization making a change at head coach may want to hit the reset button at quarterback.
In Fields, the Falcons would be getting a special talent, as he has the ability to make plays with his arm, and his legs. He is going to be one of the first three quarterbacks off the board, and based on what we saw at Ohio State, he is not going to fall past No. 5.
The Cincinnati Bengals need to bring in help up front along the offensive line, but with Penei Sewell already off the board, do they reach with the No. 5 overall pick. During his time at LSU, Joe Burrow had a historic season, leading the Tigers to an undefeated record and a national title.
He was able to accomplish this thanks to the play of wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who was by far his favorite target. At pick No. 5, Burrow and Chase are reunited in Cincinnati, hopefully giving the franchise their best quarterback-wide receiver tandem they have seen in a long time.
The Philadelphia Eagles finally have their head coach in place, and now he has to figure out what they want to do with the quarterback position. Will it be Carson Wentz or Jalen Hurts next season? That is the big question, but no matter who it is, they need more weapons on the outside.
Enter DeVonta Smith, a player who some have mocked going as high as No. 3 overall to the Miami Dolphins. While that seems a bit high for a wideout, he lands at No. 6 overall to the Eagles, giving the franchise a legitimate WR1.
