The top five programs for the 2021 recruiting cycle come as no surprise. In order, they are the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Georgia Bulldogs, the LSU Tigers and the Clemson Tigers. These programs regularly find themselves with top-five classes, almost certainly in the top 10 annually. It is why they are regular College Football Playoff contenders annually.
Rounding out the top 10 in order are the Oregon Ducks, the USC Trojans, the Texas A&M Aggies, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Michigan Wolverines. What is interesting about this next group of five teams is how strong the West Coast team’s classes are. Maybe many top talents in California want to play closer to home again, especially after the COVID year of 2020?
