Nick Chubb reveals how much he missed the Dawg Pound this season
Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb shared just how much he missed having a full stadium this season to help him get fired up for big games.
While the Cleveland Browns were able to host a limited amount of fans for home games throughout the season, it just wasn’t the same. If you ask star running back Nick Chubb, not having FirstEnergy Stadium at full capacity each Sunday definitely wasn’t easy.
Sometimes, having a packed house and the Dawg Pound screaming its head off can really get a player going. In a conversation with FanSided’s Mark Carman, Chubb shared just how much he missed everyone whenever he hit the field. At the same time, he showed love to the fans who did make their way to the contests.
Nick Chubb made it clear this season wasn’t the same without all the fans on hand
“It’s noticeable when you first come out because you see the fans going crazy for the intros and stuff — it wasn’t as loud,” Chubb said. “I can tell you, though, that the 6,000 or 12,000 we did have, those guys were electric. They were loud and we definitely appreciated them being able to come.”
Fortunately for Chubb, more and more Browns fans were able to make their way to FirstEnergy as the year progressed. It turned out to be a memorable campaign for the team too, as they made it to the Divisional Round of the postseason and nearly took down the Kansas City Chiefs.
Before that, Cleveland stunned Pittsburgh in the Wild Card Round at Heinz Field, with Baker Mayfield and the rest of the offense putting on a show. In that win, Chubb rushed for 76 yards, while catching four balls for 69 yards and a touchdown.
Come next season, everyone in Cleveland hopes that the Browns will be able to get back to business as usual and have everyone in the Dawg Pound on hand to watch the team, and that includes Chubb.
